RockReach launched over 16 years ago with the initiative to make a significant, long-lasting impact on thousands of at-risk youth in the community.  Now serving 26,000 underserved Philadelphia school children, RockReach continues to make dance accessible to our local neighborhoods through interactive performances and dance instruction.  We're excited to kick off 2017 with a brand new look for RockReach, that embodies the energy and passion of dance to our growing followers.

As Director of such a beautiful and amazing program -with equally wonderful faculty, staff, schools and students- I am thrilled to be launching the new website, social media, and newsletter.  The goal is to inform everyone of the happenings of RockReach: performances, observation days, achievements in class, etc. These new channels will highlight Residency students in class while offering an understanding of the RockReach program.  Students and parents will have an opportunity to learn about the teaching artists in your school and their customized curriculum.  This year, The Rock School is excited to welcome 1,800 economically disadvantaged RockReach students to the Merriam Theater for its production of "Nutcracker 1776" on Friday, December 16th. Check back soon for pictures and videos!

On behalf of RockReach, I would like to send a big thank you to Rose Navalta for doing a fantastic job at designing and implementing the incredible new site.  I'd also like to thank the foundations, corporations, and individuals that make RockReach possible by bringing assemblies, field trips and Residency classes to 22 Title 1 public, charter, and parochial schools throughout the Philadelphia area.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Holiday,
Christina Ruiz Pastras
RockReach Director
